Spin waves in magnetic nanowires can be bound by a local bending of the wire. The eigenfrequency of a truly local magnon mode is determined by the curvature: a general analytical expression is established for any infinitesimally weak localized curvature of the wire. The interaction of the local mode with spin waves, propagating through the bend, results in scattering features, which is well confirmed by spin-lattice simulations.
At high magnetic fields, monolayer graphene hosts competing phases distinguished by their breaking of the approximate SU(4) isospin symmetry. Recent experiments have observed an even denominator fractional quantum Hall state thought to be associated
We propose an alternative route to engineer Majorana zero modes (MZMs), which relies on inducing shift or spin vortex defects in magnetic textures which microscopically coexist or are in proximity to a superconductor. The present idea applies to a va
We construct Holstein-Primakoff Hamiltonian for magnons in arbitrary slowly varying spin background, for a microscopic spin Hamiltonian consisting of ferromagnetic spin exchange,Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya exchange, and the Zeeman term. The Gross-Pitaevski
We develop a numerically exact scheme for resumming certain classes of Feynman diagrams in the self-consistent perturbation expansion for the electron and magnon self-energies in the nonequilibrium Green function formalism applied to a coupled electr
Wave fields with spiral phase dislocations carrying orbital angular momentum (OAM) have been realized in many branches of physics, such as for photons, sound waves, electron beams, and neutrons. However, the OAM states of magnons (spin waves)$-$the b
