We analyze the dynamics of the return amplitude following a sudden quench in the three-state quantum Potts chain. For quenches crossing the quantum critical point from the paramagnetic to the ferromagnetic phase, the corresponding rate function is non-analytic at critical times and behaves linearly in their vicinity. In particular, we find no indication of a link between the time evolution close to the critical times and the scaling properties of the quantum critical point in the Potts chain.
Recently, it has been proposed that higher-spin analogues of the Kitaev interactions $K>0$ may also occur in a number of materials with strong Hunds and spin-orbit coupling. In this work, we use Lanczos diagonalization and density matrix renormalizat
Considering nonintegrable quantum Ising chains with exponentially decaying interactions, we present matrix product state results that establish a connection between low-energy quasiparticle excitations and the kind of nonanalyticities in the Loschmid
We analytically and numerically study the Loschmidt echo and the dynamical order parameters in a spin chain with a deconfined phase transition between a dimerized state and a ferromagnetic phase. For quenches from a dimerized state to a ferromagnetic
Based on tensor network simulations, we discuss the emergence of dynamical quantum phase transitions (DQPTs) in a half-filled one-dimensional lattice described by the extended Fermi-Hubbard model. Considering different initial states, namely noninter
We study the dynamics arising from a double quantum quench where the parameters of a given Hamiltonian are abruptly changed from being in an equilibrium phase A to a different phase B and back (A$to$B$to$A). As prototype models, we consider the (inte
