We study three-dimensional $mathcal{N}=2$ supersymmetric gauge theories on $mathcal{M}_{g,p}$, an oriented circle bundle of degree $p$ over a closed Riemann surface, $Sigma_g$. We compute the $mathcal{M}_{g,p}$ supersymmetric partition function and correlation functions of supersymmetric loop operators. This uncovers interesting relations between observables on manifolds of different topologies. In particular, the familiar supersymmetric partition function on the round $S^3$ can be understood as the expectation value of a so-called fibering operator on $S^2 times S^1$ with a topological twist. More generally, we show that the 3d $mathcal{N}=2$ supersymmetric partition functions (and supersymmetric Wilson loop correlation functions) on $mathcal{M}_{g,p}$ are fully determined by the two-dimensional A-twisted topological field theory obtained by compactifying the 3d theory on a circle. We give two complementary derivations of the result. We also discuss applications to F-maximization and to three-dimensional supersymmetric dualities.

We derive the partition function of 5d ${cal N}=1$ gauge theories on the manifold $S^3_b times Sigma_{frak g}$ with a partial topological twist along the Riemann surface, $Sigma_{frak g}$. This setup is a higher dimensional uplift of the two-dimensio nal A-twist, and the result can be expressed as a sum over solutions of Bethe-Ansatz-type equations, with the computation receiving nontrivial non-perturbative contributions. We study this partition function in the large $N$ limit, where it is related to holographic RG flows between asymptotically locally AdS$_6$ and AdS$_4$ spacetimes, reproducing known holographic relations between the corresponding free energies on $S^{5}$ and $S^{3}$ and predicting new ones. We also consider cases where the 5d theory admits a UV completion as a 6d SCFT, such as the maximally supersymmetric ${cal N}=2$ Yang-Mills theory, in which case the partition function computes the 4d index of general class ${cal S}$ theories, which we verify in certain simplifying limits. Finally, we comment on the generalization to ${cal M}_3 times Sigma_{frak g}$ with more general three-manifolds ${cal M}_3$ and focus in particular on ${cal M}_3=Sigma_{frak g}times S^{1}$, in which case the partition function relates to the entropy of black holes in AdS$_6$.
Localization methods have produced explicit expressions for the sphere partition functions of (2,2) superconformal field theories. The mirror symmetry conjecture predicts an IR duality between pairs of Abelian gauged linear sigma models, a class of w hich describe families of Calabi-Yau manifolds realizable as complete intersections in toric varieties. We investigate this prediction for the sphere partition functions and find agreement between that of a model and its mirror up to the scheme-dependent ambiguities inherent in the definitions of these quantities.
We study the thermodynamics of various physical systems in the framework of the Generalized Uncertainty Principle that implies a minimal length uncertainty proportional to the Planck length. We present a general scheme to analytically calculate the q uantum partition function of the physical systems to first order of the deformation parameter based on the behavior of the modified energy spectrum and compare our results with the classical approach. Also, we find the modified internal energy and heat capacity of the systems for the anti-Snyder framework.
The macroscopic entropy and the attractor equations for BPS black holes in four-dimensional N=2 supergravity theories follow from a variational principle for a certain `entropy function. We present this function in the presence of R^2-interactions an d non-holomorphic corrections. The variational principle identifies the entropy as a Legendre transform and this motivates the definition of various partition functions corresponding to different ensembles and a hierarchy of corresponding duality invariant inverse Laplace integral representations for the microscopic degeneracies. Whenever the microscopic degeneracies are known the partition functions can be evaluated directly. This is the case for N=4 heterotic CHL black holes, where we demonstrate that the partition functions are consistent with the results obtained on the macroscopic side for black holes that have a non-vanishing classical area. In this way we confirm the presence of a measure in the duality invariant inverse Laplace integrals. Most, but not all, of these results are obtained in the context of semiclassical approximations. For black holes whose area vanishes classically, there remain discrepancies at the semiclassical level and beyond, the nature of which is not fully understood at present.
We use localization to compute the partition function of a four dimensional, supersymmetric, abelian gauge theory on a hemisphere coupled to charged matter on the boundary. Our theory has eight real supercharges in the bulk of which four are broken b y the presence of the boundary. The main result is that the partition function is identical to that of ${mathcal N}=2$ abelian Chern-Simons theory on a three-sphere coupled to chiral multiplets, but where the quantized Chern-Simons level is replaced by an arbitrary complexified gauge coupling $tau$. The localization reduces the path integral to a single ordinary integral over a real variable. This integral in turn allows us to calculate the scaling dimensions of certain protected operators and two-point functions of abelian symmetry currents at arbitrary values of $tau$. Because the underlying theory has conformal symmetry, the current two-point functions tell us the zero temperature conductivity of the Lorentzi
