I shall recall in historical perspective some results from nineties and show further how $kappa$-deformed symmetries and $kappa$-Minkowski space inspired DSR (Doubly of Deformed Special Relativity) approach proposed after 2000. As very recent development I shall show how to describe quantum-covariant $kappa$-deformed phase spaces by passing from Hopf algebras to Hopf algebroids (arXiv:1507.02612) and I will briefly describe the $kappa$-deformations of $AdS_5 times S^5$ superstring target spaces (arXiv:1510.030.83).

In this chapter we review concepts and theories of polymer dynamics. We think of it as an introduction to the topic for scientists specializing in other subfields of statistical mechanics and condensed matter theory, so, for the readers reference, we start with a short review of the equilibrium static properties of polymer systems. Most attention is paid to the dynamics of unentangled polymer systems, where apart from classical Rouse and Zimm models we review some recent scaling and analytical generalizations. The dynamics of systems with entanglements is also briefly reviewed. Special attention is paid to the discussion of comparatively weakly understood topological states of polymer systems and possible approaches to the description of their dynamics.
In this talk, we describe recent developments in the Skyrme model. Our main focus is on discussing various effects which need to be taken into account, when calculating the properties of light atomic nuclei in the Skyrme model. We argue that an impor tant step is to understand spinning Skyrmions and discuss the theory of relative equilibria in this context.

We review recent developments in the type IIB matrix model, which was conjectured to be a nonperturbative formulation of superstring theory. In the first part we review the recent results for the Euclidean model, which suggest that SO(10) symmetry is spontaneously broken. In the second part we review the recent results for the Lorentzian model. In particular, we discuss Monte Carlo results, which suggest that (3+1)-dimensional expanding universe emerges dynamically. We also discuss some results suggesting the emergence of exponential expansion and the power-law expansion at later times. The behaviors at much later times are studied by the classical equation of motion. We discuss a solution representing 3d expanding space, which suggests a possible solution to the cosmological constant problem.
A review of the present status, recent enhancements, and applicability of the SIESTA program is presented. Since its debut in the mid-nineties, SIESTAs flexibility, efficiency and free distribution has given advanced materials simulation capabilities to many groups worldwide. The core methodological scheme of SIESTA combines finite-support pseudo-atomic orbitals as basis sets, norm-conserving pseudopotentials, and a real-space grid for the representation of charge density and potentials and the computation of their associated matrix elements. Here we describe the more recent implementations on top of that core scheme, which include: full spin-orbit interaction, non-repeated and multiple-contact ballistic electron transport, DFT+U and hybrid functionals, time-dependent DFT, novel reduced-scaling solvers, density-functional perturbation theory, efficient Van der Waals non-local density functionals, and enhanced molecular-dynamics options. In addition, a substantial effort has been made in enhancing interoperability and interfacing with other codes and utilities, such as Wannier90 and the second-principles modelling it can be used for, an AiiDA plugin for workflow automatization, interface to Lua for steering SIESTA runs, and various postprocessing utilities. SIESTA has also been engaged in the Electronic Structure Library effort from its inception, which has allowed the sharing of various low level libraries, as well as data standards and support for them, in particular the PSML definition and library for transferable pseudopotentials, and the interface to the ELSI library of solvers. Code sharing is made easier by the new open-source licensing model of the program. This review also presents examples of application of the capabilities of the code, as well as a view of on-going and future developments.
