We study analysis aspects of the sixth order GJMS operator $P_g^6$. Under conformal normal coordinates around a point, the expansions of Greens function of $P_g^6$ with pole at this point are presented. As a starting point of the study of $P_g^6$, we manage to give some existence results of prescribed $Q$-curvature problem on Einstein manifolds. One among them is that for $n geq 10$, let $(M^n,g)$ be a closed Einstein manifold of positive scalar curvature and $f$ a smooth positive function in $M$. If the Weyl tensor is nonzero at a maximum point of $f$ and $f$ satisfies a vanishing order condition at this maximum point, then there exists a conformal metric $tilde g$ of $g$ such that its $Q$-curvature $Q_{tilde g}^6$ equals $f$.

Let $L_g$ be the subcritical GJMS operator on an even-dimensional compact manifold $(X, g)$ and consider the zeta-regularized trace $mathrm{Tr}_zeta(L_g^{-1})$ of its inverse. We show that if $ker L_g = 0$, then the supremum of this quantity, taken o ver all metrics $g$ of fixed volume in the conformal class, is always greater than or equal to the corresponding quantity on the standard sphere. Moreover, we show that in the case that it is strictly larger, the supremum is attained by a metric of constant mass. Using positive mass theorems, we give some geometric conditions for this to happen.

We derive the first and second variation formula for the Greens function poles value of Paneitz operator on the standard three sphere. In particular it is shown that the first variation vanishes and the second variation is nonpositively definite. Mor eover, the second variation vanishes only at the direction of conformal deformation. We also introduce a new invariant of the Paneitz operator and illustrate its close relation with the second eigenvalue and Sobolev inequality of Paneitz operator.

Nahms equations are viewed in a more general context where they appear as a vector field on a moduli space of co-Higgs bundles on the projective line. Zeros of this vector field correspond to torsion-free sheaves on a singular spectral curve which we translate in terms of a smooth curve in three-dimensional projective space. We also show how generalizations of Nahms equations are required when the spectral curve is non-reduced and deduce the existence of non-classical conserved quantities in this situation.

We define a family of functionals generalizing the Yang-Mills functional. We study the corresponding gradient flows and prove long-time existence and convergence results for subcritical dimensions as well as a bubbling criterion for the critical dime nsions. Consequently, we have an alternate proof of the convergence of Yang-Mills flow in dimensions 2 and 3 given by Rade and the bubbling criterion in dimension 4 of Struwe in the case where the initial flow data is smooth.
