We report the electronic structure, synthesis, and measurements of the magnetic, transport, and thermal properties of the polycrystalline noncentrosymmetric compound Re$_{6}$Zr. We observed a bulk superconducting transition at temperature $T_{c}$ $sim$ 6.7 K, and measured the resistivity, heat capacity, thermal conductivity, and the London penetration depth below the transition, as well as performed doping and pressure studies. From these measurements we extracted the critical field, and the superconducting parameters of Re$_{6}$Zr. Our measurements indicate a relatively weak to moderate contribution from a triplet component to the order parameter, and favor a full superconducting gap, although we cannot exclude the existence of point nodes based on our data.

The noncentrosymmetric superconductor Re$_6$Zr has attracted much interest due to the observation of broken time-reversal symmetry in the superconducting state. Here we report an investigation of the superconducting gap structure of Re$_6$Zr single c rystals by measuring the magnetic penetration depth shift $Deltalambda(T)$ and electronic specific heat $C_e(T)$. $Deltalambda(T)$ exhibits an exponential temperature dependence behavior for $T~ll~T_c$, which indicates a fully-open superconducting gap. Our analysis shows that a single gap $s$-wave model is sufficient to describe both the superfluid density $rho_s(T)$ and $C_e(T)$ results, with a fitted gap magnitude larger than the weak coupling BCS value, providing evidence for fully-gapped superconductivity in Re$_6$Zr with moderate coupling.
We report superconductivity in the ternary half-Heusler compound LuPtBi, with Tc = 1.0 K and Hc2 = 1.6 T. The crystal structure of LuPtBi lacks inversion symmetry, hence the material is a noncentrosymmetric superconductor. Magnetotransport data show semimetallic behavior in the normal state, which is evidence for the importance of spin-orbit interaction. Theoretical calculations indicate that the strong spin-orbit interaction in LuPtBi should cause strong band inversion, making this material a promising candidate for 3D topological superconductivity.

We present research on the superconducting properties of Nb$_{x}$Re$_{1-x}$ ($x$ = 0.13-0.38) obtained by measuring the electrical resistivity $rho(T)$, magnetic susceptibility $chi(T)$, specific heat $C_P(T)$, and London penetration depth $Deltalamb da(T)$. It is found that the superconducting transition temperature $T_c$ decreases monotonically with an increase of $x$. The upper critical field $B_{c2}(T)$ for various $x$ can be nicely scaled by its corresponding $T_c$. The electronic specific heat $C_e(T)/T$, penetration depth $Deltalambda(T)$, and superfluid density $rho_{s}(T)$ demonstrate exponential behavior at low temperatures and can be well fitted by a one-gap BCS model. The residual Sommerfeld coefficient $gamma_0(B)$ in the superconducting state follows a linear field dependence. All these properties suggest an emph{s}-wave BCS-type of superconductivity with a very large $B_{c2}(0)$ for Nb$_{x}$Re$_{1-x}$ (0.13 $leq x leq$ 0.38).

We report measurements of London penetration depth $lambda(T)$ for the noncentrosymmetric superconductor BiPd by using a tunnel diode oscillator. Pronounced anisotropic behavior is observed in the low-temperature penetration depth; the in-plane penet ration depth $lambda_{ac}(T)$ follows an exponential decrease, but the interplane penetration depth $lambda_b(T)$ shows power-law-type behavior. The superfluid density $rho_s(T)$, converted from the penetration depth $lambda(T)$, is best fitted by an anisotropic two-band BCS model. We argue that such a complex order parameter is attributed to the admixture of spin-singlet and spin-triplet pairing states as a result of antisymmetric spin-orbit coupling in BiPd.
We report on the synthesis and on basic superconducting properties of a completely new Mo_2Re_3B ternary boride. The crystal structure of the Mo_2Re_3B compound is characterised by Pmmm space group and the cell parameters: a=11.626 A, b=8.465 A and c =8.026 A. The critical temperature is Tc=8.5 K, whereas the lower and the upper-critical fields at zero temperature are equal to Hc1(0)=19.2 mT and to Hc2(0)=3.7 T, respectively. The corresponding Ginzburg-Landau parameter is equal to k=16.5 and the superconducting gap is estimated to be 2delta/kTc=3.2.
