In 1992, Kalai and Kleitman proved a quasipolynomial upper bound on the diameters of convex polyhedra. Todd and Sukegawa-Kitahara proved tail-quasipolynomial bounds on the diameters of polyhedra. These tail bounds apply when the number of facets is greater than a certain function of the dimension. We prove tail-quasipolynomial bounds on the diameters of polytopes and normal simplicial complexes. We also prove tail-polynomial upper bounds on the diameters of polyhedra.

The celebrated upper bound theorem of McMullen determines the maximal number of extreme points of a polyhedron in terms of its dimension and the number of constraints which define it, showing that the maximum is attained by the polar of the cyclic po lytope. We show that the same bound is valid in the tropical setting, up to a trivial modification. Then, we study the natural candidates to be the maximizing polyhedra, which are the polars of a family of cyclic polytopes equipped with a sign pattern. We construct bijections between the extreme points of these polars and lattice paths depending on the sign pattern, from which we deduce explicit bounds for the number of extreme points, showing in particular that the upper bound is asymptotically tight as the dimension tends to infinity, keeping the number of constraints fixed. When transposed to the classical case, the previous constructions yield some lattice path generalizations of Gales evenness criterion.

Geometrical objects with integral sides have attracted mathematicians for ages. For example, the problem to prove or to disprove the existence of a perfect box, that is, a rectangular parallelepiped with all edges, face diagonals and space diagonals of integer lengths, remains open. More generally an integral point set $mathcal{P}$ is a set of $n$ points in the $m$-dimensional Euclidean space $mathbb{E}^m$ with pairwise integral distances where the largest occurring distance is called its diameter. From the combinatorial point of view there is a natural interest in the determination of the smallest possible diameter $d(m,n)$ for given parameters $m$ and $n$. We give some new upper bounds for the minimum diameter $d(m,n)$ and some exact values.
The convex hull generated by the restriction to the unit ball of a stationary Poisson point process in the $d$-dimensional Euclidean space is considered. By establishing sharp bounds on cumulants, exponential estimates for large deviation probabiliti es are derived and the relative error in the central limit theorem on a logarithmic scale is investigated for a large class of key geometric characteristics. This includes the number of lower-dimensional faces and the intrinsic volumes of the random polytopes. Furthermore, moderate deviation principles for the spatial empirical measures induced by these functionals are also established using the method of cumulants. The results are applied to deduce, by duality, fine probabilistic estimates and moderate deviation principles for combinatorial parameters of a class of zero cells associated with Poisson hyperplane mosaics. As a special case this comprises the typical Poisson-Voronoi cell conditioned on having large inradius.
Graph associahedra are generalized permutohedra arising as special cases of nestohedra and hypergraphic polytopes. The graph associahedron of a graph $G$ encodes the combinatorics of search trees on $G$, defined recursively by a root $r$ together wit h search trees on each of the connected components of $G-r$. In particular, the skeleton of the graph associahedron is the rotation graph of those search trees. We investigate the diameter of graph associahedra as a function of some graph parameters. It is known that the diameter of the associahedra of paths of length $n$, the classical associahedra, is $2n-6$ for a large enough $n$. We give a tight bound of $Theta(m)$ on the diameter of trivially perfect graph associahedra on $m$ edges. We consider the maximum diameter of associahedra of graphs on $n$ vertices and of given tree-depth, treewidth, or pathwidth, and give lower and upper bounds as a function of these parameters. Finally, we prove that the maximum diameter of associahedra of graphs of pathwidth two is $Theta (nlog n)$.
A emph{$[z, r; g]$-mixed cage} is a mixed graph $z$-regular by arcs, $r$-regular by edges, with girth $g$ and minimum order. %In this paper we study structural properties of mixed cages: Let $n[z,r;g]$ denote the order of a $[z,r;g]$-mixed cage. In t his paper we prove that $n[z,r;g]$ is a monotonicity function, with respect of $g$, for $zin {1,2}$, and we use it to prove that the underlying graph of a $[z,r;g]$-mixed cage is 2-connected, for $zin {1,2}$. We also prove that $[z,r;g]$-mixed cages are strong connected. We present bounds of $n[z,r;g]$ and constructions of $[z,r;5]$-mixed graphs and show a $[10,3;5]$-mixed cage of order $50$.
