Polarized cross-correlation spectroscopy on a quantum dot charged with a single hole shows the sequential emission of photons with common circular polarization. This effect is visible without magnetic field, but becomes more pronounced as the field along the quantization axis is increased. We interpret the data in terms of electron dephasing in the X+ state caused by the Overhauser field of nuclei in the dot. We predict the correlation timescale can be increased by accelerating the emission rate with cavity-QED.

We theoretically investigate the efficiency of an entanglement swapping procedure based on the use of quantum dots as sources of entangled photon pairs. The four-photon interference that affects such efficiency is potentially limited by the fine-stru cture splitting and by the time correlation between cascaded photons, which provide which-path information. The effect of spectral inhomogeneity is also considered, and a possible quantum eraser experiment is discussed for the case of identical dots.
We propose and characterize a two-photon emitter in a highly polarised, monochromatic and directional beam, realized by means of a quantum dot embedded in a linearly polarized cavity. In our scheme, the cavity frequency is tuned to half the frequency of the biexciton (two excitons with opposite spins) and largely detuned from the excitons thanks to the large biexciton binding energy. We show how the emission can be Purcell enhanced by several orders of magnitude into the two-photon channel for available experimental systems.
We investigate the non-classical states of light that emerge in a microwave resonator coupled to a periodically-driven electron in a nanowire double quantum dot (DQD). Under certain drive configurations, we find that the resonator approaches a therma l state at the temperature of the surrounding substrate with a chemical potential given by a harmonic of the drive frequency. Away from these thermal regions we find regions of gain and loss, where the system can lase, or regions where the DQD acts as a single-photon source. These effects are observable in current devices and have broad utility for quantum optics with microwave photons.
By using highly time-resolved spectroscopy with an alternative {sigma}+/{sigma} - laser pulse modulation technique, we are able to measure the fast buildup and decay times of the dynamical nuclear spin polarization (DNSP) at 5 K for a single InAs qua ntum dot (QD) with positively charged exciton. It is shown that the nuclear dipole-dipole interaction can efficiently depolarize DNSP with a typical time constant of 500 {mu}s in the absence of external magnetic field. By using an external field of 8 mT to suppress the nuclear dipolar interaction, the decay time turns to be mainly induced by interaction with unpaired electron and extends to about 5 ms. In addition, it is found that the time constant of hole-induced depolarization of nuclear spin is about 112 ms.
We report the observation of all-optically tunable Raman fluorescence from a single quantum dot. The Raman photons are produced in an optically-driven Lambda-system defined by subjecting the single electron charged quantum dot to a magnetic field in Voigt geometry. Detuning the driving laser from resonance, we tune the frequency of the Raman photons by about 2.5 GHz. The number of scattered photons and the linewdith of the Raman photons are investigated as a function of detuning. The study presented here could form the basis of a new technique for investigating spin-bath interactions in the solid state.
