Pressure effect on superconducting properties of two YB6 samples (Tc = 5.9 and 7.5 K) were investigated by measurements of electrical resistivity, magnetic susceptibility, and X-ray diffraction in the pressure range up to 320 kbar. Magnetoresistivity measurements down to 60 mK and up to 47 kbar have shown a negative pressure effect on Tc as well as on the third critical field Hc3 with the slopes dlnTc/dp = -0.59%/kbar and dlnHc3/dp = -1.1%/kbar, respectively. The magnetic susceptibility measurements evidenced that the slope of dlnTc/dp gradually decreases with pressure reaching 3 times smaller value at 112 kbar. The lattice parameter measurements revealed the volume reduction of 14% at 320 kbar. The pressure-volume dependence is described by the Rose-Vinet equation of state. The obtained relative volume dependence dlnTc/dlnV analyzed by the McMillan formula for Tc indicates that the reduction of the superconducting transition temperature is mainly due to hardening of the Einstein-like phonon mode responsible for the superconducting coupling. This is confirmed by the analysis of the resistivity measurements in the normal state up to T = 300 K performed at pressures up to 28 kbar.

The experimental realization of high-temperature superconductivity in compressed hydrides H$_3$S and LaH$_{10}$ at high pressures over 150 GPa has aroused great interest in reducing the stabilization pressure of superconducting hydrides. For cerium h ydride CeH$_9$ recently synthesized at 80$-$100 GPa, our first-principles calculations reveal that the strongly hybridized electronic states of Ce 4$f$ and H 1$s$ orbitals produce the topologically nontrivial Dirac nodal lines around the Fermi energy $E_F$, which are protected by crystalline symmetries. By hole doping, $E_F$ shifts down toward the topology-driven van Hove singularity to significantly increase the density of states, which in turn raises a superconducting transition temperature $T_c$ from 74 K up to 136 K at 100 GPa. The hole-doping concentration can be controlled by the incorporation of Ce$^{3+}$ ions with varying their percentages, which can be well electronically miscible with Ce atoms in the CeH$_9$ matrix because both Ce$^{3+}$ and Ce behave similarly as cations. Therefore, the interplay of symmetry, band topology, and hole doping contributes to enhance $T_c$ in compressed CeH$_9$. This mechanism to enhance $T_c$ can also be applicable to another superconducting rare earth hydride LaH$_{10}$.

In this paper, pressure effect on superconductivity and magnetism has been investigated in FeSex (x = 0.80, 0.88). The magnetization curves display anomaly at Ts1 106 K and Ts2 78 K except for the superconducting diamagnetic transition around Tc 8 K. The magnetic anomaly at Ts1 and Ts2 can be related to a ferromagnetic and an antiferromagnetic phase transition, respectively, as revealed by specific heat measurements. The application of pressure not only raises Tc, but also increases both Ts1 and Ts2. This system shows clear evidence that superconductivity arises in a phase with strong magnetic character and the superconductivity coexists with magnetism. In addition, the specific heat anomaly associated with the superconducting transition seems to be absent.

We report on the impact of hydrostatic pressure on the superconductivity of optimally (Indium) doped SnTe which is established to be derived from a topological crystalline insulating phase. Single crystals of Sn1-xInxTe were synthesized by a modified Bridgman method that exhibited maximum superconducting Tc of 4.4 K for x= 0.5. Hydrostatic pressure upto 2.5 GPa was applied on the crystals of Sn0.5In0.5Te and electrical resistivity as a function of temperature and pressure was measured. We observed decrease in onset superconducting transition temperature from 4.4 K to 2.8 K on increasing pressure from ambient to 2.5 GPa. The normal state resistivity also decreased abruptly by an order of magnitude at 0.5 GPa but for higher pressures, the same decreased marginally. From onset, offset and zero resistivity values, dTc/dP of -0.6K/GPa was confirmed. The low temperature normal state resistivity followed T^2 dependence suggesting Fermi liquid behaviour both for ambient and high pressure data. This increase in metallic characteristics accompanied by normal state Fermi liquid behaviour is in accordance with a dome structure for Tc variation with varying carrier concentration.

Electrical resistivity measurements under high pressures up to 29 GPa were performed for oxypnictide compound LaFeAsO. We found a pressure-induced superconductivity in LaFeAsO. The maximum value of Tc is 21 K at ~12 GPa. The pressure dependence of th e Tc is similar to those of LaFeAsO1-xFx series reported previously.

We discover a pressure induced quantum phase transition from the superconducting state to the non-superconducting Kondo screened phase associated with a 2% volume collapse in CeFeAsO0.7F0.3 through measurements of high-pressure resistance, synchrotro n x-ray diffraction, and x-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) in a diamond anvil cell. Our XAS data of Ce-L3 in CeFeAsO0.7F0.3 clearly show a spectral weight transfer from the main line to the satellite line after the transition, demonstrating the formation of the Kondo singlets under pressure in CeFeAsO1-xFx. Our results have revealed a physical picture of a pressure-induce competition between Kondo singlets and BCS singlets in the Ce-pnictide superconductors.
