Using properties of skew-Hamiltonian matrices and classic connectedness results, we prove that the moduli space $M_{ort}^0(r,n)$ of stable rank $r$ orthogonal vector bundles on $mathbb{P}^2$, with Chern classes $(c_1,c_2)=(0,n)$, and trivial splitting on the general line, is smooth irreducible of dimension $(r-2)n-{r choose 2}$ for specific values of $r$ and $n$.

We apply the method of skew-orthogonal polynomials (SOP) in the complex plane to asymmetric random matrices with real elements, belonging to two different classes. Explicit integral representations valid for arbitrary weight functions are derived for the SOP and for their Cauchy transforms, given as expectation values of traces and determinants or their inverses, respectively. Our proof uses the fact that the joint probability distribution function for all combinations of real eigenvalues and complex conjugate eigenvalue pairs can be written as a product. Examples for the SOP are given in terms of Laguerre polynomials for the chiral ensemble (also called the non-Hermitian real Wishart-Laguerre ensemble), both without and with the insertion of characteristic polynomials. Such characteristic polynomials play the role of mass terms in applications to complex Dirac spectra in field theory. In addition, for the elliptic real Ginibre ensemble we recover the SOP of Forrester and Nagao in terms of Hermite polynomials.
This paper studies spaces of generalized theta functions for odd orthogonal bundles with nontrivial Stiefel-Whitney class and the associated space of twisted spin bundles. In particular, we prove a Verlinde type formula and a dimension equality that was conjectured by Oxbury-Wilson. Modifying Hitchins argument, we also show that the bundle of generalized theta functions for twisted spin bundles over the moduli space of curves admits a flat projective connection. We furthermore address the issue of strange duality for odd orthogonal bundles, and we demonstrate that the naive conjecture fails in general. A consequence of this is the reducibility of the projective representations of spin mapping class groups arising from the Hitchin connection for these moduli spaces. Finally, we answer a question of Nakanishi-Tsuchiya about rank-level duality for conformal blocks on the pointed projective line with spin weights.

Let $C$ be an algebraic curve of genus $g$ and $L$ a line bundle over $C$. Let $mathcal{MS}_C(n,L)$ and $mathcal{MO}_C(n,L)$ be the moduli spaces of $L$-valued symplectic and orthogonal bundles respectively, over $C$ of rank $n$. We construct rationa l curves on these moduli spaces which generalize Hecke curves on the moduli space of vector bundles. As a main result, we show that these Hecke type curves have the minimal degree among the rational curves passing through a general point of the moduli spaces. As its byproducts, we show the non-abelian Torelli theorem and compute the automorphism group of moduli spaces.
Jacobis method is a well-known algorithm in linear algebra to diagonalize symmetric matrices by successive elementary rotations. We report about the generalization of these elementary rotations towards canonical transformations acting in Hamiltonian phase spaces. This generalization allows to use Jacobis method in order to compute eigenvalues and eigenvectors of Hamiltonian (and skew-Hamiltonian) matrices with either purely real or purely imaginary eigenvalues by successive elementary symplectic decoupling-transformations.
