We provide a sufficient condition for open sets W and X such that a disc formula for the largest plurisubharmonic subextension of an upper semicontinuous function on a domain W to a complex manifold X holds.

This note establishes smooth approximation from above for J-plurisubharmonic functions on an almost complex manifold (X,J). The following theorem is proved. Suppose X is J-pseudoconvex, i.e., X admits a smooth strictly J-plurisubharmonic exhaustion f unction. Let u be an (upper semi-continuous) J-plurisubharmonic function on X. Then there exists a sequence {u_j} of smooth, strictly J-plurisubharmonic functions point-wise decreasing down to u. On any almost complex manifold (X,J) each point has a fundamental neighborhood system of J-pseudoconvex domains, and so the theorem above establishes local smooth approximation on X. This result was proved in complex dimension 2 by the third author, who also showed that the result would hold in general dimensions if a parallel result for continuous approximation were known. This paper establishes the required step by solving the obstacle problem.

We develop a new approach to $L^{infty}$-a priori estimates for degenerate complex Monge-Amp`ere equations on complex manifolds. It only relies on compactness and envelopes properties of quasi-plurisubharmonic functions. In a prequel cite{GL21a} we h ave shown how this method allows one to obtain new and efficient proofs of several fundamental results in Kahler geometry. In cite{GL21b} we have studied the behavior of Monge-Amp`ere volumes on hermitian manifolds. We extend here the techniques of cite{GL21a} to the hermitian setting and use the bounds established in cite{GL21b}, producing new relative a priori estimates, as well as several existence results for degenerate complex Monge-Amp`ere equations on compact hermitian manifolds.

Given a 3-manifold M containing an incompressible surface Q, we obtain an inequality relating the Heegaard genus of M and the Heegaard genera of the components of M - Q. Here the sum of the genera of the components of M - Q is bounded above by a line ar expression in terms of the genus of M, the Euler characteristic of Q and the number of parallelism classes of essential annuli for which representatives can be simultaneously imbedded in the components of M - Q.
We give an explicit local formula for any formal deformation quantization, with separation of variables, on a Kahler manifold. The formula is given in terms of differential operators, parametrized by acyclic combinatorial graphs.

Let $varphi$ be a quasi-psh function on a complex manifold $X$ and let $Ssubset X$ be a complex submanifold. Then the multiplier ideal sheaves $mathcal{I}(varphi|_S)subsetmathcal{I}(varphi)|_{S}$ and the complex singularity exponents $c_{x}left(varph i|_{S}right)leqslant c_{x}(varphi)$ by Ohsawa-Takegoshi $L^{2}$ extension theorem. An interesting question is to know whether it is possible to get equalities in the above formulas. In the present article, we show that the answer is positive when $S$ is chosen outside a measure zero set in a suitable projective space.
