We compute the temperature-dependent spin-wave spectrum and the magnetization for a spin system using the unified decoupling procedure for the high-order Greens functions for the exchange coupling and anisotropy, both in the classical and quantum case. Our approach allows us to establish a clear crossover between quantum-mechanical and classical methods by developing the classical analog of the quantum Greens function technique. The results are compared with the classical spectral density method and numerical modeling based on the stochastic Landau-Lifshitz equation and the Monte Carlo technique. As far as the critical temperature is concerned, there is a full agreement between the classical Greens functions technique and the classical spectral density method. However, the former method turns out to be more straightforward and more convenient than the latter because it avoids any emph{a priori} assumptions about the systems spectral density. The temperature-dependent exchange stiffness as a function of magnetization is investigated within different approaches.

It is virtually impossible to evaluate the magnetic properties of large anisotropic magnetic molecules numerically exactly due to the huge Hilbert space dimensions as well as due to the absence of symmetries. Here we propose to advance the Finite-Tem perature Lanczos Method (FTLM) to the case of single-ion anisotropy. The main obstacle, namely the loss of the spin rotational symmetry about the field axis, can be overcome by choosing symmetry related random vectors for the approximate evaluation of the partition function. We demonstrate that now thermodynamic functions for anisotropic magnetic molecules of unprecedented size can be evaluated.

We studied the exchange coupling and decoupling occurring in a nanocomposite spin system based on a 3D Heisenberg model by means of Monte Carlo numerical computation simulation. Different from conventional micromagnetism approach which usually adopts finite elements method to compute, in a top-down way, the magnetic property of micromagnetic ensemble in micron even nanometer scale, our approach in this paper is peculiar to the structure of a complex spin lattice, i.e. two species of spins building up from single spin to cluster spins in a bottom-up way. The simulation revealed the influence of exchange coupling constant Jab, the size of cluster spins d and system reduced temperature t upon the exchange coupling and decoupling between component spin phases of a nanocomposite magnets, respectively. Smaller value of Jab, larger d and lower temperature t usually lead to the decoupling of originally exchange-coupled component phases and the occurrence of a characteristic two-stage shoulder with an inflexion on the demagnetization curve. The results reported in this paper are of, to some extent, universality and applicable to other dual-phase magnetic systems since our simulation simply focus on a pure duplex spin system rather than a specific material and all physical variables were treated in a reduced form.
The magneto-crystalline anisotropy (MCA) of (Ga,Mn)As films has been studied on the basis of ab-initio electronic structure theory by performing magnetic torque calculations. An appreciable contribution to the in-plane uniaxial anisotropy can be attr ibuted to an extended region adjacent to the surface. Calculations of the exchange tensor allow to ascribe a significant part to the MCA to the exchange anisotropy, caused either by a tetragonal distortion of the lattice or by the presence of the surface or interface.
Dynamical potentials appear in many advanced electronic-structure methods, including self-energies from many-body perturbation theory, dynamical mean-field theory, electronic-transport formulations, and many embedding approaches. Here, we propose a n ovel treatment for the frequency dependence, introducing an algorithmic inversion method that can be applied to dynamical potentials expanded as sum over poles. This approach allows for an exact solution of Dyson-like equations at all frequencies via a mapping to a matrix diagonalization, and provides simultaneously frequency-dependent (spectral) and frequency-integrated (thermodynamic) properties of the Dyson-inverted propagators. The transformation to a sum over poles is performed introducing $n$-th order generalized Lorentzians as an improved basis set to represent the spectral function of a propagator, and using analytic expressions to recover the sum-over-poles form. Numerical results for the homogeneous electron gas at the $G_0W_0$ level are provided to argue for the accuracy and efficiency of such unified approach.

We report measurements of magnon spin transport in a spinel ferrite, magnesium aluminum ferrite $mathrm{MgAl_{0.5}Fe_{1.5}O_4}$ (MAFO), which has a substantial in-plane four-fold magnetic anisotropy. We observe spin diffusion lengths $> 0.8$ $mathrm{ mu m}$ at room temperature in 6 nm films, with spin diffusion length 30% longer along the easy axes compared to the hard axes. The sign of this difference is opposite to the effects just of anisotropy in the magnetic energy for a uniform magnetic state. We suggest instead that accounting for anisotropy in exchange stiffness is necessary to explain these results.
