We report the development and performance of on-chip interconnects designed to suppress electromagnetic (EM) crosstalk in spin qubit device architectures with the large number of gate electrodes needed for multi- qubit operation. Our design improves the performance of typical device interconnects via the use of minia- turised ohmic contacts and interspersed ground guards. Low temperature measurements and numerical simulation confirm that control and readout signal crosstalk can be suppressed to levels of order 1%, from dc to 1 GHz.

Unwanted interaction between a quantum system and its fluctuating environment leads to decoherence and is the primary obstacle to establishing a scalable quantum information processing architecture. Strategies such as environmental and materials engi neering, quantum error correction and dynamical decoupling can mitigate decoherence, but generally increase experimental complexity. Here we improve coherence in a qubit using real-time Hamiltonian parameter estimation. Using a rapidly converging Bayesian approach, we precisely measure the splitting in a singlet-triplet spin qubit faster than the surrounding nuclear bath fluctuates. We continuously adjust qubit control parameters based on this information, thereby improving the inhomogenously broadened coherence time ($T_{2}^{*}$) from tens of nanoseconds to above 2 $mu$s and demonstrating the effectiveness of Hamiltonian estimation in reducing the effects of correlated noise in quantum systems. Because the technique demonstrated here is compatible with arbitrary qubit operations, it is a natural complement to quantum error correction and can be used to improve the performance of a wide variety of qubits in both metrological and quantum-information-processing applications.
Larger arrays of electron spin qubits require radical improvements in fabrication and device uniformity. Here we demonstrate excellent qubit device uniformity and tunability from 300K down to mK temperatures. This is achieved, for the first time, by integrating an overlapping polycrystalline silicon-based gate stack in an all-Silicon and lithographically flexible 300mm flow. Low-disorder Si/SiO$_2$ is proved by a 10K Hall mobility of $1.5 cdot 10^4$ $cm^2$/Vs. Well-controlled sensors with low charge noise (3.6 $mu$eV/$sqrt{mathrm{Hz}}$ at 1 Hz) are used for charge sensing down to the last electron. We demonstrate excellent and reproducible interdot coupling control over nearly 2 decades (2-100 GHz). We show spin manipulation and single-shot spin readout, extracting a valley splitting energy of around 150 $mu$eV. These low-disorder, uniform qubit devices and 300mm fab integration pave the way for fast scale-up to large quantum processors.
In addition to magnetic field and electric charge noise adversely affecting spin qubit operations, performing single-qubit gates on one of multiple coupled singlet-triplet qubits presents a new challenge---crosstalk, which is inevitable (and must be minimized) in any multiqubit quantum computing architecture. We develop a set of dynamically-corrected pulse sequences that are designed to cancel the effects of both types of noise (i.e., field and charge) as well as crosstalk to leading order, and provide parameters for these corrected sequences for all 24 of the single-qubit Clifford gates. We then provide an estimate of the error as a function of the noise and capacitive coupling to compare the fidelity of our corrected gates to their uncorrecte
Coherent spin states in semiconductor quantum dots offer promise as electrically controllable quantum bits (qubits) with scalable fabrication. For few-electron quantum dots made from gallium arsenide (GaAs), fluctuating nuclear spins in the host latt ice are the dominant source of spin decoherence. We report a method of preparing the nuclear spin environment that suppresses the relevant component of nuclear spin fluctuations below its equilibrium value by a factor of ~ 70, extending the inhomogeneous dephasing time for the two-electron spin state beyond 1 microsecond. The nuclear state can be readily prepared by electrical gate manipulation and persists for > 10 seconds.
We report coherent operation of a singlet-triplet qubit controlled by the arrangement of two electrons in an adjacent double quantum dot. The system we investigate consists of two pairs of capacitively coupled double quantum dots fabricated by electr ostatic gates on the surface of a GaAs heterostructure. We extract the strength of the capacitive coupling between qubit and double quantum dot and show that the present geometry allows fast conditional gate operation, opening pathways to multi-qubit control and implementation of quantum algorithms with spin qubits.
