The model-independent solution of the s-channel unitarity condition for the imaginary part of the hadronic elastic scattering amplitude outside the diffraction peak allows to make conclusions about its real part at nonzero transferred momenta. The asymptotical properties of the ratio of the real to imaginary part of the amplitude are discussed. In particular, it is explicitly shown that the ratio changes its sign at a defnite value of the transferred momentum. Some comments concerning the present day experimental results about the behavior of the differential cross-section of elastic scattering outside the diffraction cone are given.

The s-channel unitarity condition for the imaginary part of the hadronic elastic scattering amplitude outside the diffraction peak is studied within different assumptions about the behavior of its real part. The integral equation for the imaginary pa rt is derived with the asymptotical expression for the real part inserted in the unitarity condition. The conclusions about the asymptotical approach to the black disk limit and possible zeros of the imaginary part of the amplitude are obtained. Their relation to the present day experiments is discussed.
A new method for the determination of the real part of the elastic scattering amplitude is examined for high energy proton-proton elastic scattering at small momentum transfer. This method allows us to decrease the number of model assumptions, to obt ain the real part in a narrow region of momentum transfer and to test different models. The real part is computed at a given point t_min near t=0 from the known Coulomb amplitude. Hence one obtains an important constraint on the real part of the forward scattering amplitude and therefore on the rho-parameter (measuring the ratio of the real to imaginary part of the scattering amplitude at t=0), which can be tested at LHC.

The possible non-exponential behavior of the real part was found on the base of the analysis of the ISR experimental data.

A parameterization of the nucleon-nucleon elastic scattering amplitude is needed for future experiments with nucleon and nuclear beams in the beam momentum range of 2 -- 50 GeV/c/nucleon. There are many parameterizations of the amplitude at $P_{lab} >$ 25--50 GeV/c, and at $P_{lab} leq$ 5 GeV/c. Our paper is aimed to cover the range between 5 -- 50 GeV/c. The amplitude is used in Glauber calculations of various cross sections and Monte Carlo simulations of nucleon-nucleon scatterings. Usually, the differential nucleon-nucleon elastic scattering cross sections are described by an exponential expression. Corresponding experimental data on $pp$ interactions at $|t|>$ 0.005 (GeV/c)$^2$ and $|t|leq$ 0.125 (GeV/c)$^2$ have been fit. We propose formulae to approximate the beam momentum dependence of these parameters in the momentum range considered. The same was done for $np$ interactions at $|t|leq$ 0.5 (GeV/c)$^2$. Expressions for the momentum dependence of the total and elastic cross sections, and the ratio of real to imaginary parts of the amplitude at zero momentum transfer are also given for $pp$ and $np$ collisions. These results are sufficient for a first approximation of the Glauber calculations. For more exact calculations we fit the data at $|t|>$ 0.005 (GeV/c)$^2$ without restrictions on the maximum value of $|t|$ using an expression based on two coherent exponential. The parameters of the fits are found for the beam momentum range 2 -- 50 GeV/c.
The partial differential equation for the imaginary part of the elastic scattering amplitude is derived. It is solved in the black disk limit. The asymptotical scaling behavior of the amplitude coinciding with the geometrical scaling is proved. Its e xtension to preasymptotical region and modifications of scaling laws for the differential cross section are considered.
