We study nuclear symmetry energy of dense matter using holographic QCD. We calculate it in a various holographic QCD models and show that the scaling index of the symmetry energy in dense medium is almost invariant under the smooth deformation of the metric as well as the embedding shape of the probe brane. We find that the scaling index depends only on the dimensionality of the branes and space-time. Therefore the scaling index of the symmetry energy characterizes the universality classes of holographic QCD models. We suggest that the scaling index might be also related to the non-fermi liquid behavior of the interacting nucleons.

We study the nuclear symmetry energy of dense matter using holographic QCD. To this end, we consider two flavor branes with equal quark masses in a D4/D6/D6 model. We find that at all densities the symmetry energy monotonically increases. At small de nsities, it exhibits a power law behavior with the density, $E_{rm sym} sim rho^{1/2}$.

We construct the D4/D8 brane configuration in the Witten-Sakai-Sugimoto model by introducing a pair of heavy flavour brane with a heavy-light open string. The multiplets created by the heavy-light string acquire mass due to the finite separation of t he heavy and light flavour branes thus they could be identified as the heavy-light meson fields in this model. On the other hand the glueball field is identified as the gravitational fluctuations carried by the close string in the bulk, so this model is able to describe the interaction of glueball and heavy-light meson through the open-close string interaction in gauge-gravity duality. We explicitly derive the effective action for the various glueballs and heavy-light mesons then numerically evaluate the associated coupling constants. Afterwards the decay widths of various glueballs to the lowest heavy-light meson, which is identified as $D^{0}$ meson, are calculated by using our effective action. This work extends the previous investigations of glueball in holographic QCD and it is also a further prediction of glueball-meson interaction.
We consider the noncommutative deformation of the Sakai--Sugimoto model at finite temperature and finite baryon chemical potential. The space noncommutativity is possible to have an influence on the flavor dynamics of the QCD. The critical temperatur e and critical value of the chemical potential are modified by the space noncommutativity. The influence of the space noncommutativity on the flavor dynamics of the QCD is caused by the Wess--Zumino term in the effective action of the D8-branes. The intermediate temperature phase, in which the gluons deconfine but the chiral symmetry remains broken, is easy to be realized in some region of the noncommutativity parameter.
We introduce a notion of universality classes for the Gregory-Laflamme instability and determine, in the supergravity approximation, the stability of a variety of solutions, including the non-extremal D3-brane, M2-brane, and M5-brane. These three non -dilatonic branes cross over from instability to stability at a certain non-extremal mass. Numerical analysis suggests that the wavelength of the shortest unstable mode diverges as one approaches the cross-over point from above, with a simple critical exponent which is the same in all three cases.
We consider the holographic QCD model with a planar horizon in the D dimensions with different consistent metric solutions. We investigate the black hole thermodynamics, phase diagram and equations of state (EoS) in different dimensions. The temperat ure and chemical potential dependence of the drag force and diffusion coefficient also have been studied. From the results, the energy loss of heavy quark shows an enhancement near the phase transition temperature in D dimensions. This finding illustrates that the energy loss of heavy quark has a nontrivial and non-monotonic dependence on temperature. Furthermore, we find the heavy quark may lose less energy in higher dimension. The diffusion coefficient is larger in higher dimension.
