We analyze the effect of Proca mass and orbital angular momentum of photons imposed by a structured plasma in Kerr-Newman and Reissner-Nordstrom-de Sitter spacetimes. The presence of characteristic lengths in a turbulent plasma converts the virtual Proca photon mass on orbital angular momentum, with the result of decreasing the virtual photon mass. The combination of this plasma effect and that of the gravitational field leads to a new astrophysical phenomenon that imprints a specific distribution of orbital angular momentum into different frequencies of the light emitted from the neighborhood of such a black hole. The determination of the orbital angular momentum spectrum of the radiation in different frequency bands leads to a complete characterization of the electrostatic and gravitational field of the black hole and of the plasma turbulence, with fundamental astrophysical and cosmological implications.

We analyze the properties of the circular orbits for massive particles in the equatorial plane of symmetric rotating Ellis wormholes. In particular, we obtain the orbital frequencies and the radial and vertical epicyclic frequencies, and consider the ir lowest parametric, forced and Keplerian resonances. These show that quasi-periodic oscillations in accretion disks around symmetric rotating Ellis wormholes have many distinct properties as compared to quasi-periodic oscillations in accretion disks around rotating Teo wormholes and the Kerr black hole. Still we can distinguish some common features which appear in wormhole spacetimes as opposed to black holes. The most significant ones include the possibility of excitation of stronger resonances such as lower order parametric and forced resonances and the localization of these resonances deep in the region of strong gravitational interaction near the wormhole throat, which will lead to further amplification of the signal.
A family of models of counterrotating and rotating relativistic thin discs of infinite extension based on a charged and magnetized Kerr-NUT metric are constructed using the well-known displace, cut and reflect method extended to solutions of vacuum E instein-Maxwell equations. The metric considered has as limiting cases a charged and magnetized Taub-NUT solution and the well known Kerr-Newman solutions. We show that for Kerr-Newman fields the eigenvalues of the energy-momentum tensor of the disc are for all the values of the parameters real quantities so that these discs do not present heat flow in any case, whereas for charged and magnetized Kerr-NUT and Taub-NUT fields we find always regions with heat flow. We also find a general constraint over the counterrotating tangential velocities needed to cast the surface energy-momentum tensor of the disc as the superposition of two counterrotating charged dust fluids. We show that, in general, it is not possible to take the two counterrotating fluids as circulating along electrogeodesics nor take the two counterrotating tangential velocities as equal and opposite.
Proca stars are self-gravitating Bose-Einstein condensates obtained as numerical stationary solutions of the Einstein-(complex)-Proca system. These solitonic can be both stable and form dynamically from generic initial data by the mechanism of gravit ational cooling. In this paper we further explore the dynamical properties of these solitonic objects by performing both head-on collisions and orbital mergers of equal mass Proca stars, using fully non-linear numerical evolutions. For the head-on collisions, we show that the end point and the gravitational waveform from these collisions depends on the compactness of the Proca star. Proca stars with sufficiently small compactness collide leaving a stable Proca star remnant. But more compact Proca stars collide to form a transient ${it hypermassive}$ Proca star, which ends up decaying into a black hole, albeit temporarily surrounded by Proca quasi-bound states. The unstable intermediate stage can leave an imprint in the waveform, making it distinct from that of a head-on collision of black holes. The final quasi-normal ringing matches that of Schwarzschild black hole, even though small deviations may occur, as a signature of sufficiently non-linear and long-lived Proca quasi-bound states. For the orbital mergers, the outcome also depends on the compactness of the stars. For most compact stars, the binary merger forms a Kerr black hole which retains part of the initial orbital angular momentum, being surrounded by a transient Proca field remnant; in cases with lower compactness, the binary merger forms a massive Proca star with angular momentum, but out of equilibrium. As in previous studies of (scalar) boson stars, the angular momentum of such objects appears to converge to zero as a final equilibrium state is approached.
On-chip photon sources carrying orbital angular momentum (OAM) are in demand for high-capacity optical information processing in both classical and quantum regimes. However, currently-exploited integrated OAM sources have been primarily limited to th e classical regime. Herein, we demonstrate a room-temperature on-chip integrated OAM source that emits well-collimated single photons, with a single-photon purity of g(2)(0) = 0.22, carrying entangled spin and orbital angular momentum states and forming two spatially separated entangled radiation channels with different polarization properties. The OAM-encoded single photons are generated by efficiently outcoupling diverging surface plasmon polaritons excited with a deterministically positioned quantum emitter via Archimedean spiral gratings. Our OAM single-photon sources bridge the gap between conventional OAM manipulation and nonclassical light sources, enabling high-dimensional and large-scale photonic quantum systems for information processing.
Given the recent development of rotating black-bounce-Kerr spacetimes, for both theoretical and observational purposes it becomes interesting to see whether it might be possible to construct black-bounce variants of the entire Kerr-Newman family. Spe cifically, herein we shall consider black-bounce-Reissner-Nordstrom and black-bounce-Kerr-Newman spacetimes as particularly simple and clean everywhere-regular black hole mimickers that deviate from the Kerr-Newman family in a precisely controlled and minimal manner, and smoothly interpolate between regular black holes and traversable wormholes. While observationally the electric charges on astrophysical black holes are likely to be extremely low, $|Q|/m ll 1$, introducing any non-zero electric charge has a significant theoretical impact. In particular, we verify the existence of a Killing tensor (and associated Carter-like constant) but without the full Killing tower of principal tensor and Killing-Yano tensor, also we discuss how, assuming general relativity, the black-bounce-Kerr-Newman solution requires an interesting, non-trivial matter/energy content.
