In present paper we propose seemingly new method for finding solutions of some types of nonlinear PDEs in closed form. The method is based on decomposition of nonlinear operators on sequence of operators of lower orders. It is shown that decomposition process can be done by iterative procedure(s), each step of which is reduced to solution of some auxiliary PDEs system(s) for one dependent variable. Moreover, we find on this way the explicit expression of the first-order PDE(s) for first integral of decomposable initial PDE. Remarkably that this first-order PDE is linear if initial PDE is linear in its highest derivatives. The developed method is implemented in Maple procedure, which can really solve many of different order PDEs with different number of independent variables. Examples of PDEs with calculated their general solutions demonstrate a potential of the method for automatic solving of nonlinear PDEs.

Analytical solutions of the Schrodinger equation are obtained for some diatomic molecular potentials with any angular momentum. The energy eigenvalues and wave functions are calculated exactly. The asymptotic form of the equation is also considered. Algebraic method is used in the calculations.
The Greens function method which has been originally proposed for linear systems has several extensions to the case of nonlinear equations. A recent extension has been proposed to deal with certain applications in quantum field theory. The general so lution of second order nonlinear differential equations is represented in terms of a so-called short time expansion. The first term of the expansion has been shown to be an efficient approximation of the solution for small values of the state variable. The proceeding terms contribute to the error correction. This paper is devoted to extension of the short time expansion solution to non-linearities depending on the first derivative of the unknown function. Under a proper assumption on the nonlinear term, a general representation for Greens function is derived. It is also shown how the knowledge of nonlinear Greens function can be used to study the spectrum of the nonlinear operator. Particular cases and their numerical analysis support the advantage of the method. The technique we discuss grants to obtain a closed form analytic solution for non-homogeneous non-linear PDEs so far amenable just to numerical solutions. This opens up the possibility of several applications in physics and engineering.

The nonlinear Helmholtz equation (NLH) models the propagation of electromagnetic waves in Kerr media, and describes a range of important phenomena in nonlinear optics and in other areas. In our previous work, we developed a fourth order method for it s numerical solution that involved an iterative solver based on freezing the nonlinearity. The method enabled a direct simulation of nonlinear self-focusing in the nonparaxial regime, and a quantitative prediction of backscattering. However, our simulations showed that there is a threshold value for the magnitude of the nonlinearity, above which the iterations diverge. In this study, we numerically solve the one-dimensional NLH using a Newton-type nonlinear solver. Because the Kerr nonlinearity contains absolute values of the field, the NLH has to be recast as a system of two real equations in order to apply Newtons method. Our numerical simulations show that Newtons method converges rapidly and, in contradistinction with the iterations based on freezing the nonlinearity, enables computations for very high levels of nonlinearity. In addition, we introduce a novel compact finite-volume fourth order discretization for the NLH with material discontinuities. The one-dimensional results of the current paper create a foundation for the analysis of multi-dimensional problems in the future.
Flexible multivariate covariance models for spatial data are on demand. This paper addresses the problem of parametric constraints for positive semidefiniteness of the multivariate Mat{e}rn model. Much attention has been given to the bivariate case, while highly multivariate cases have been explored to a limited extent only. The existing conditions often imply severe restrictions on the upper bounds for the collocated correlation coefficients, which makes the multivariate Mat{e}rn model appealing for the case of weak spatial cross-dependence only. We provide a collection of validity conditions for the multivariate Mat{e}rn covariance model that allows for more flexible parameterizations than those currently available. We also prove that, in several cases, we can attain much higher upper bounds for the collocated correlation coefficients in comparison with our competitors. We conclude with a simple illustration on a trivariate geochemical dataset and show that our enlarged parametric space allows for better fitting performance with respect to our competitors.
A theorem is proved which determines the first integrals of the form $I=K_{ab}(t,q)dot{q}^{a}dot{q}^{b}+K_{a}(t,q)dot{q}^{a}+K(t,q)$ of autonomous holonomic systems using only the collineations of the kinetic metric which is defined by the kinetic en ergy or the Lagrangian of the system. It is shown how these first integrals can be associated via the inverse Noether theorem to a gauged weak Noether symmetry which admits the given first integral as a Noether integral. It is shown also that the associated Noether symmetry is possible to satisfy the conditions for a Hojman or a form-invariance symmetry therefore the so-called non-Noetherian first integrals are gauged weak Noether integrals. The application of the theorem requires a certain algorithm due to the complexity of the special conditions involved. We demonstrate this algorithm by a number of solved examples. We choose examples from published works in order to show that our approach produces new first integrals not found before with the standard methods.
