While all models of Majorana neutrino masses lead to the same dimension five effective operator, which does not conserve lepton number, the dimension six operators induced at low energies conserve lepton number and differ depending on the high energy model of new physics. We derive the low-energy dimension six operators which are characteristic of generic Seesaw models, in which neutrino masses result from the exchange of heavy fields which may be either fermionic singlets, fermionic triplets or scalar triplets. The resulting operators may lead to effects observable in the near future, if the coefficients of the dimension five and six operators are decoupled along a certain pattern, which turns out to be common to all models. The phenomenological consequences are explored as well, including their contributions to $mu to e gamma$ and new bounds on the Yukawa couplings for each model.

We consider a class of models in which the neutrinos acquire Majorana masses through mixing with singlet neutrinos that emerge as composite states of a strongly coupled hidden sector. In this framework, the light neutrinos are partially composite par ticles that obtain their masses through the inverse seesaw mechanism. We focus on the scenario in which the strong dynamics is approximately conformal in the ultraviolet, and the compositeness scale lies at or below the weak scale. The small parameters in the Lagrangian necessary to realize the observed neutrino masses can naturally arise as a consequence of the scaling dimensions of operators in the conformal field theory. We show that this class of models has interesting implications for a wide variety of experiments, including colliders and beam dumps, searches for lepton flavor violation and neutrinoless double beta decay, and cosmological observations. At colliders and beam dumps, this scenario can give rise to striking signals involving multiple displaced vertices. The exchange of hidden sector states can lead to observable rates for flavor violating processes such as $mu rightarrow e gamma$ and $mu rightarrow e$ conversion. If the compositeness scale lies at or below a hundred MeV, the rate for neutrinoless double beta decay is suppressed by form factors and may be reduced by an order of magnitude or more. The late decays of relic singlet neutrinos can give rise to spectral distortions in the cosmic microwave background that are large enough to be observed in future experiments.
Several cosmologically distant astrophysical sources may produce high-energy cosmic neutrinos (E geq 10^6 GeV) of all flavors above the atmospheric neutrino background. We study the effects of vacuum neutrino mixing in three flavor framework on this cosmic neutrino flux. We also consider the effects of possible mixing between the three active neutrinos and the (fourth) sterile neutrino with or without Big-Bang nucleosynthesis constraints and estimate the resulting final high-energy cosmic neutrino flux ratios on earth compatible with currently existing different neutrino oscillation hints in a model independent way. Further, we discuss the case where the intrinsic cosmic neutrino flux does not have the standard ratio.

We discuss first the flavor mixing of the quarks, using the texture zero mass matrices. Then we study a similar model for the mass matrices of the leptons. We are able to relate the mass eigenvalues of the charged leptons and of the neutrinos to the mixing angles and can predict the masses of the neutrinos. We find a normal hierarchy - the masses are 0.004 eV, 0.01 eV and 0.05 eV. The atmospheric mixing angle is given by the mass ratios of the charged leptons and the neutrinos. we find about 40 degrees, consistent with the experiments. The mixing element, connecting the first neutrino wit the electron, is predicted to be 0.05. This prediction can soon be checked by the Daya Bay experiment.

Low Energy solar neutrino detection plays a fundamental role in understanding both solar astrophysics and particle physics. After introducing the open questions on both fields, we review here the major results of the last two years and expectations f or the near future from Borexino, Super-Kamiokande, SNO and KamLAND experiments as well as from upcoming (SNO+) and planned (LENA) experiments. Scintillator neutrino detectors are also powerful antineutrino detectors such as those emitted by the Earth crust and mantle. First measurements of geo-neutrinos have occurred and can bring fundamental contribution in understanding the geophysics of the planet.
We consider a situation where the leading-order neutrino mass matrix is derived by a theoretical ansatz and reproduces the experimental data well, but not completely. Then, the next stage is to try to fully reproduce the data by adding small perturba tion terms. In this paper, we obtain the analytical method to diagonalize the perturbed mass matrix and find a consistency condition that parameters should satisfy not to change sintheta_{12} much. This condition could cause parameter tuning and plays a crucial role in relating the added perturbation terms with the prediction analytically, in particular, for the case of the partially quasi-degenerated neutrino masses (m_2 simeq m_1) where neutrinoless double beta decays would be observed in the phase-II experiments.
