Abstract in English
This paper aims at revealing the image of Joan of Arc as it
appeared in two well-known chronicles: Edward Hall's chronicles
and that of Raphael Holinshed, which are regarded as the basic
sources for her image in Shakespeare's play Henry VI Part 1. This
paper then proceeds to show her image in a major French history
book, and in other literary works which can help us to understand
her personality as a female warrior who faces many changes by
reason of that role.
